Our History
Introduced by Sakura Group and other shareholders, “Keza Education
Future Lab”, is initiated as an education key partner to support
addressing the challenges of the 21st Century, whereby children will
be empowered with the capacity to contribute to shaping the world to
a better future.
In fact, Keza Education Future Lab (KEFL) is a social driven company
that support the achievement of MINEDUC and its affiliated
institution REB in providing quality education by improving the use
of science and technology among children. KEFL aims to build on
successful foundations in use of ICT for kids by introducing
robotics and programming at an early age.
It was registered with RDB on February 10th, 2020 after awarded the
recommendation by the Ministry of Education of July 30th, 2019 to
establish in Kigali a Rwanda Education Future Lab Project, changed
in Keza Education Future Lab Project to adopt the resolution of 17th
National Dialogue, 2019.
Our Genesis & Background
The national Vision gives the overall vision for Rwandan development
and establishes a goal to move Rwanda from an agriculture based
economy to information rich, service oriented, and knowledge based
economy. One of the priority areas of the National Strategic
Transformation (NSTI) is to Establish Rwanda as a Globally
Competitive Knowledge-based Economy" with a focus on innovation and
technology industry.
Moreover, one of the education outcomes of the Education Sector
Strategic Plan (ESSP) is the strengthened performance in science,
technology and innovation at all levels of education, and
application of science, technology and innovation in relevant
sectors of the economy. The National digital policy aims at bridging
the ICT skills gap and educating Rwanda's active population in
digital literacy and becoming an exporter of ICT skills globally and
creating more jobs.
One of its strategic objectives is to provide digital literacy for
all primary education and general population. The national policies
and initiatives drives the Government of Rwanda to progressively
eliminate illiteracy in all its form, promote Science and Technology
Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM), critical thinking, and
positive values A range of policies were adopted aiming at the
promotion of ICT in STEAM with an overall objective of improving the
quality of Education and improving teaching and learning process.
To achieve that, the Ministry of Education and different Education
Stakeholders are engaged to transform Rwandan citizens into skilled
human capital for the socioeconomic development of the country.
Within the above context, Sakura Group and other shareholders have
introduced the ❝Keza Education Future Lab❞, a company
to support addressing the challenges of the 21 Century, whereby
children will be empowered with the capacity to contribute to
shaping the world to a better future.
